About
Rachel Skalka is a New York-based actor and filmmaker. She firmly believes that an unbridled amount of play exposes and deepens our humanity. Her artistic process is derived from and in pursuit of that notion.
Rachel trained at Boston University, Long Wharf Theatre, and spent consecutive summers at the Tony-award winning Williamstown Theatre Festival where she was proudly part of the final Non-Equity Acting Company in 2019. She has taught young theatre-makers independently, at Williamstown Theatre Festival, and at the American Repertory Theater. Rachel’s filmmaking debut, “Leg Room,” (actor/writer/producer) made its World Premiere at the 2024 Los Angeles Festival of Cinema. She originally composed the piece as a poem out of a series of texts she sent while quarantining in her Brooklyn apartment in April 2020.
As a model, Rachel has appeared in national campaigns for Don Julio and Fidelity. She is represented by BICOASTAL MGMT— her portfolio is available here.
